Woodrow Wilson
Academy for
Teaching and
Learning

Part of the larger Woodrow Wilson Academy for Teaching and Learning (WW Academy), the Amgen Biology Teacher Education Program will offer cutting-edge, competency-based teacher education for the life sciences at the middle and secondary school level. Developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the WW Academy seeks to transform teacher education and school leader policy and practice nationally. Part graduate school of education, part laboratory, the WW Academy will provide competency-based master’s degree programs in teaching and school leadership. Through a $3 million commitment over five years, the Amgen Biology Teacher Education Program will ensure that graduates of the WW Academy have both the subject mastery and practical preparation for classrooms to support high-quality biology instruction and learning.
