Through a 12-year, $50 million commitment from the Amgen Foundation, the Amgen Scholars Program makes it possible for young scientists across the globe to engage in cutting-edge research experiences and learn more about biotechnology and drug discovery. Today, the Amgen Foundation partners with 17 of the world’s premier educational institutions across the U.S., Japan and Europe to provide hundreds of undergraduate students an opportunity to conduct research in a lab environment. Since 2006, the Amgen Scholars Program has provided these engaging hands-on opportunities for over 3,500 undergraduates from across the globe. Ninety-four percent of the program’s alumni who have completed their undergraduate studies are pursuing an advanced degree or career in a scientific field.
